Tojo Technologies was founded by Mr. Derek White; a technology focused executive with an undergraduate degree in Engineering Physics and a post graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. Derek has led research and technology development projects throughout his career ranging from 3D light measurement systems for orthopedics, to one atmosphere diving system. Systems engineering and development programs have included deep water internet connected observatories for research to subsea dispersant injection systems for rapid response in case of oil leaks.
Derek has been involved in these programs in a wide range of roles including lead technical investigator and designer, project manager, operations manager, business development manager and GM. Each of these positions offers a different perspective to technology development programs that all require consideration when initiating a technology development program. Tojo Technologies uses a very structured format development technique at the start of the program to identify key stakeholders and to define the program goals and objective. Based on the particulars of the program, hold points are developed and program goals and progress re-evaluated to allow for course correction in the technology development path.
Tojo Technologies works with our customers in a project management capacity to ensure that the business need driving the program is well developed with clear goals and objective for the technical team and that project risk assessment and mitigation is started early focusing not only on the technical, cost and schedule risks, but also integration, IP protection, subcontractor management and impact assessment risks for the company. Early project risk assessment and mitigation coupled with clear goals and assumptions and regular review of assumptions and goals based on program progress are the keys to program success.
